Among our Joys:
We lift up our youth, Justin and myself, as we venture to Vashon Island this weekend with our friends from the congregations comprising the Tacoma Joint Youth Group as we discover the theme, "What Was I Made For?"
Among our concerns:
Laura Cohthril, as she continues hospitalization in anticipation of another operation next week and awaits further test results
Danny Jablonski is now home, being cared for by his spouse, Gordon. Danny received a sobering medical prognosis just a few weeks ago, and I know that he and Gordon deeply appreciate our prayers and support during this difficult time. One of the ways we are caring for them is by providing a food train. If you would like to sign up to provide a freezable dish that can be easily reheated, please get in contact with Jan Riley.

For all our homebound friends, those who we name each week, and many whose limited mobility has greatly decreased their ability to be with us physically on Sunday mornings. As our elders continue to work to serve as extensions of this community making house visits to offer at-home communion, and as always, over the phone and through cards and letters of care, I encourage you to myself or our Elder chairperson, Dave Quiring, if there is a friend or loved one in our community you know who perhaps could benefit from being reached out to by our community. As you know, there are several folks whose names are mentioned more regularly on Sunday, which is a good thing for us to do, and, we know there are perhaps others who for whatever reason may not be part of our regular outreach efforts or simply to remember them in our prayers.
We hope you'll join us back here in the sanctuary this afternoon at 2pm as we gather in support of our beloved Mel Peabody to remember and give God thanks for the life of their partner, Bear. All are welcome.
Among our local and global community,
We pray for peace, for those under occupation, for those who fall victim to tyrannical rule, for all building peace in a world obsessed with war. We pray for Gaza, Ukraine, Afghanistan, Israel, Iran, Haiti, Myanmar, and anywhere God’s peace is trampled in the human quest for might.
We lift up the village on 6th and Orchard.
We lift up our Global Ministries partners in Lebanon and Syria.
If you'd like to share a prayer joy or concern, please contact Pastor Doug at doug@fcctacoma.org or by calling the church office. Please indicate whether your prayer is to be shared publicly, or if you'd like it to be kept private.
