We look at Jesus’ teaching on prayer this week in Luke 11. Typical of his pedagogy, his examples are at first quite strange. Let’s discover what he means to teach us in a time when we so need prayer!
Guest Pianist Nathaniel Dybevik will be accompanying the Chancel Choir and Congregation this week. Please welcome him. We start our service this week with Psalm 104 versified by Isaac Watts and set to a lively 18th century German 4 part harmony! As we examine the power of prayer we are reminded in the lectionary reading that “how much more will the heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to those who ask him!” and so we will sing in closing “Breathe on me, breath of God, fill me with life anew, that I may love what thou dost love, and do what thou wouldst do.”
