08/07/2016 – 12th Sunday After Pentecost

“Surprising  Gifts”

Luke 12:32-40
August 07, 2016
The Rev. Chris Morton graces our pulpit this week.  Our text for the morning continues Jesus’ teachings on how we are to faithfully steward our resources.  The most memorable phrase from this passage is “Where your treasure is, there your heart is also.”

“Take my love; my Lord, I pour at thy feet its treasure store. Take myself, and I will be ever, only, all for thee, ever, only, all for thee.” These words that we will be singing as our hymn of invitation this Sunday along with the beautiful 19th century melody and harmonies by H. A. Cesar Malan, reminds us joyfully of the greatest treasure that we have to give, Love.
