Splinters From The Board

  • Tom Moore started the meeting with a prayer. 

  • Pat Riley spoke regarding current church financials.  We affirmed that our financial secretary, Eliesabeth Lindsey and the Finance Committee continue to do an outstanding job.    

  • Our Tiny House Village has a new manager, Tyjana Campbell, who has taken over for Joe Perva.  Current population is 61 with 18 of these persons being children. John Unterreiner, Doug Collins, and Tom Moore continue to work with LIHI regarding future possibilities for the campus. 

  • Pastor Doug gave an update from the Reconvening Committee as the Delta variant of COVID-19 continues to spread.  His report included information regarding lots of personnel work as we search for a new permanent Sound Technician, Nursery Supervisor, and Nursery Assistant. 

  • Kudos were given to Norma Carolyn and the Nominating Committee for their excellent work on ensuring open positions are filled for 2022. 

  • Doug continues his participation with “Flourish!”, a financial literacy and stewardship education program for clergy and church leaders. Florette Ebengho and Jeanette Sanchez will be representing FCC at the next workshop along with Doug in October.  

  • Doug is also grateful to have received a grant from the Northern Lights Region to receive Spiritual Direction.  

  • We gave thanks to Tom Moore and the current Board for their outstanding leadership and ability to assist in carrying us all through the pandemic, our transition in calling our new Pastor, the inception of our Tiny House Village, and much more. 

  • Pat Riley and John Unterreiner provided a 2022 budget update. More information is available upon request and will also be provided to all shortly in preparation for next month’s Congregational Meeting. 

  • Tom Moore concluded by expressing gratitude for a “good three years of serving.” 

  • The meeting concluded at 1:58 p.m. with a prayer led by Tom Moore. 

  • Our next meeting will be the All-Congregational Meeting on Sunday, October 17, 2021 after worship, both in-person and online via Zoom.
