We lift in prayer and hold in our hearts Ben Smith and his family on the news of the death early Friday morning of his grandmother, Sachi Smith. We give God our profound thanks for her long life and for the love she brought to this world. We hold in our hearts, Ben's father, Bill Smith, and each one of their beloved family as they care for one another through this time of grief and remembrance.
Among our local and global community:
We lift up those in the Northeast region of the United States as they reel from and endure a historic winter white-out. We pray especially for those who find themselves vulnerable without access to shelter and warmth.
We pray for God's peace to be a viable realm of imagination and action, here in the United States and around the world. We pray for those subject to the powers above who wage war at the cost of their children's lives, and we pray for those who fail to recognize the power they possess to make light the burdens of those who find difficulty in this life.
We pray for the village on 6th and Orchard, and for those who find themselves without shelter.
We pray for our Global Ministry partners, this week, in Turkey.
