Among our local and global community:
We hold before you a world aching for peace. We remember all who are caught in violence, displacement, and the long struggle for dignity and safety.
With the Gospel imperative for justice and peace on our minds, at the start of this new year, we cry out to God for direction and deliverance from the evils we commit and the complicity with which we allow our neighbors to be harmed without our speaking up. We pray for the world, and for all who live in harm's way, including, but not limited to Gaza, Ukraine, Somalia, Nigeria, Bangladesh, Taiwan, Afghanistan and Venezuela. We pray for moral righteousness to imbue the souls and minds of our leaders, as well all of us who have agency to make meaning of the world around us; for the power of love to overcome our very human love of power.
·We lift up the LGBTQ+ community, those in the United States, and around the world, seeking care, safety, community, and peace.
For the village on 6th and Orchard and for those who find themselves without shelter.
And last but not least, we lift up our Global Ministries Partners, this week in Botswana.
