Among our concerns:
We add to our prayer concerns Mark Fry, who is home recovering from a TIA mini-stroke earlier this week. Mark is grateful to be home, and for the prayers of his beloved community, so we lift him up for the rest and recuperation his body needs.
We continue to lift up:
Marc Master, Sandy King, Cherry LaCross, Gloria Utley, Pat McDaniel, Lela Cox and Laura Cohthril.
For the friends of our extended community and families undergoing health challenges; George, Raven, Margo and Steve.
We lift up our homebound friends:
Charlene Housman
Phyllis Jacobsen
Irene McBride
Dorothy Beeles
Harry Lobberegt
Susan Pearson
Pat Lien
Jane Nelson
Among our local and global community:
In the midst of the strikes on Iran committed by the United States and Israel this weekend, let us pause and remember the people of Iran, and all dwell in harm's way, those who are subject to the whims of the powerful. May we strive to make a way for peace, to define that peace as Jesus has, one that is not merely the absence of violence, or silence held in the tension of fear for retribution, but the peace of God that passes understanding, the peace that needs not weaponry stockpiled for justification, the peace that Jesus calls us to make by washing one another's feet and loving ALL our our neighbors as God so loves ALL of humanity.
We pray for the village on 6th and Orchard, for those seeking shelter and community of many kinds, and for God's spirit to nudge us to the people and places where we might best use our resources to do ministry like Jesus would do - without prejudice, without hatred, with hope and joy and confident inclusion
We pray for our Global Ministries partners this week in Lebanon.
If you'd like to share a prayer joy or concern, please contact Pastor Doug at doug@fcctacoma.org or by calling the church office. Please indicate whether your prayer is to be shared publicly or if you'd like it to be kept private.
