And with sadness I share that at approximately 6am this morning, our dear sister in faith, Anastasia Cox passed away after a short stint in the hospital in hospice care. We give God thanks for Anastasia's amazing long life, for the journey that brought her as a young refugee from Finland to Canada, and then to the United States where she made a home and a life. We life up Lela, Anastasia's daughter and faithful caregiver who welcomed Anastasia into her home for the final chapter of her life here on earth. We lift up Lela, who in addition to being washed afresh with grieve for her mother, is preparing to begin receiving chemotherapy next week for her breast cancer. Lela, we love you, and we are here for you, You and your whole family are in our prayers.
Among our local and global community:
We pray for peace and compassion throughout the world. Amongst many who find themselves in places of conflict or struggle for justice and peace. We pray for an end to the genocide in Gaza, for those facing political violence and acts of war around the world, including Bangladesh, Afghanistan, Ukraine and Somalia.
For the village on 6th and Orchard and for those who find themselves without shelter.
And last but not least, we lift up our Global Ministries Partners, this week in Eswatini.
