This week's community joys and concerns - Feb. 17, 2023

Joys

Among the joys in our community and beyond,

  • We give thanks for the sun's breakthrough and for glimpses of the turning of the season all around.

Concerns

We continue praying for:

  • Ron & Sandra Wagner-Wright, Cassie's parents.

  • Kim King, sister-in-law of Sandy King

  • Bill Duncan, a member of Laura Richholt's family

  • Mark Housman, who has progressed in his recovery after heart surgery on 1/25 and continues healing at in a physical rehabilitation facility.

  • Charlene Housman

  • Bear, Mel Peabody's partner

  • Rachel Morford

  • September Peterson

  • And for our homebound friends, Helen Bosley, Harry and Margaret Lobberegt, Jane Nelson, Marylu and Joseph Mills and Jim and Kay Thompson and Lenora Cook.

Among our local and global community concerns:

  • For the hundreds of thousands affected by the recent devastating earthquake in Turkey and Syria, including family members and loved ones of the 20,000+ victims of this terrible disaster. We pray for first responders and for those on the ground working to help one another through this very trying time. Read how our denomination is on the ground and how you can help make a difference through Week of Compassion.

  • For the Village at 6th and Orchard

  • For our partners in ministry, the Low Income Housing Institute, and the work our congregational leaders continue to provide alongside Pastor Doug in discerning and developing a plan to build affordable housing on the corner of 6th and Orchard.

  • For our Global Ministries partners, this week in Thailand.
