Among our Joys:
It is Pentecost! In the tradition and beliefs of our forebears in the church, life begins at first breath. Before first breath, the spirit of life, the breath of being, had not entered the body. According to Acts, it was on the Pentecost when the Disciples as one body took their first breath, the Holy Spirit filling the room with a gust of wind, the Holy Spirit which shows us that the gospel can be heard in all languages, can be found in all peoples. Today we celebrate that the good news of redemption and reconciliation can be articulated in every language. We celebrate that all can hear it in their native tongue, in their community. .
Among our concerns:
We hold in our prayers Laura Cohthril
Mel Peabody’s mother
Pat McDaniel
Karen Murray's friend Nancy
Mary Hans-Zwosta, a friend of Sue Simpson
Danny Jablonski, and his spouse, Gordon
Marc Master
Alex Tapia
Corrine Bahrke's friend, Loralie
Martha Redford's friends, Margo and Teresa
For our homebound friends, including Harry and Margaret Lobberegt, Helen Bosley, Marylu and Joseph Mills and Jane Nelson
Among our local and global community,
We pray for peace, for those under occupation, for those who fall victim to tyrannical rule, for all building peace in a world obsessed with war. We pray for Gaza, the West Bank, Ukraine, Israel, Iran, and anywhere God’s peace is trampled in the human quest for might.
We lift up the village on 6th and Orchard.
We lift up our Global Ministries partners in Venezuela..
