Yesterday, we gathered here to celebrate the life of Margaret Lobberegt, for her music, her ministry, and her love. We continue to hold her beloved Harry in our prayers, as well as their children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and all who knew and loved Margaret so dearly.
I received word this morning of another beloved member of our community whose spirit has returned to God. Another faithful servant, Joseph Mills, died peacefully early this morning after a brief stint of hospitalization at St. Joseph's for pneumonia. As many of you know, this past year has been a difficult one for the Mills family as they said goodbye to Marylu a few months ago, and in the midst of her decline, Joe sustained serious injuries after being struck by a car. His recovery was incredible to watch as he rallied for his family in the midst of very trying times. I invite you to join me in thanking God for the ministry and long life of Joseph Mills, and to remember his children, grandchildren, and extended family and friends who grieve for him.
Among our local and global community:
We pray for peace and compassion throughout the world. Amongst many who find themselves in places of conflict or struggle for justice and peace.
For the village on 6th and Orchard and for those who find themselves without shelter.
We continue to pray for the community of Minneapolis in the wake of the shooting last week at Annunciation Catholic School which to the lives of two children and injured 17 others.
And last but not least, we lift up our Global Ministries Partners this week in Mozambique.
