This week's community joys & concerns from December 10, 2023

Among our Joys:

  • Our children's Christmas puppet pageant planning is underway! Our first rehearsal is next Sunday - please contact Susan Pearson if you're like to participate!

  • Join Youth Group White Elephant party - calling all middle and high school students - meet us at Urban Grace Church from 6-8 this Wednesday. The gifts are at a $5 max! Come have some fun with us!

  • Joy - this season's art opportunity, I'll invite Torie to give us an introduction after I share this morning's joys and concerns.

Among our concerns, we pray for:

  • Tom Moore, having knee replacement surgery

  • Mel Peabody, her partner, Bear and their family

  • Katy Mundy

  • Alex Tapia

  • Larry Levy

  • Corrine Bahrke's friend, Loralie

  • Martha Redford's friends, Margo and Teresa

  • For all our homebound friends, for Harry and Margaret Lobberegt, Helen Bosley, Marylu and Joseph Mills and Jane Nelson.

Among our local and global community,

  • For the families and loved ones of the 6 who lost their lives this weekend due to tornadoes in Tennessee. We pray for those who remain in harm's way, and for the rescue and support teams on the ground providing aid this morning.

  • Those in harm's way in the Israel-Hamas conflict, and for the many whose lives have been cut short due to violence

  • We continue to pray for those in Ukraine, Afghanistan, and many other places around the world in the midst of conflict and strife.

  • We lift up the village on 6th and Orchard, remembering too those of our neighbors who remain especially vulnerable in this season. We pray for the fervor to continue doing all we can to care for the least among us in tangible, faith-filled ways.

  • We lift up our Global Ministries partners this week in the Dominican Republic.
